Enabling the document viewing experience -

To take advantage of the PDF Editor in Gardiant, you'll first need to enable the Document Viewing experience:

  1. Access Settings: Click on the gear icon next to your name in the top right corner of the screen.

  2. Navigate to Other Settings: locate and turn ON the Document viewing experience:

With this feature enabled, you'll have access to:

  • View up to 30 documents simultaneously.

  • Update the title while reviewing PDF documents.

  • Avoid cluttering your Downloads folder, as viewing documents won't download them to your computer.

  • Use a variety of tools to highlight text, add notes, and mark up your PDF documents directly within Gardiant.

Note: Non-PDF documents (such as: images, Excel spreadsheets, videos) cannot be edited with the PDF Editor. Word documents will still need to be edited one at a time using the Word Add-In outside of the document viewer.

Viewing and working with multiple PDF documents -

You can select one or more PDF documents to view and edit simultaneously:

  • Organize Pages: Use the "Organize Pages" button or press CTRL+ALT+3 to open the page management view. Here, you can add, delete, rotate, or copy pages within your document.

  • Batch Operations: Select multiple pages to rotate, copy, or delete them all at once, streamlining your document management tasks.

Annotating PDF documents -

To add annotations to a PDF document:

  • Add or Edit Annotations: Click the "Add or Edit Annotations" button or press CTRL+SHIFT+A.

  • Annotation Tools: In the toolbar, you'll find options to:

    • Highlight text

    • Underline text

    • Strikethrough text

    • Add shapes

    • Insert text

    • Include signatures

These tools allow you to customize your document annotations as needed.

Note: If OCR is applied to a PDF document and that document is saved, the OCR will become a part of the PDF so the next time you use the document you don't need to apply the OCR again even though the button will allow you to apply OCR again.

Managing PDF document versions -

When a PDF document has multiple versions due to edits made with the PDF Editor, a clock icon will appear next to that document in your list.

  • Accessing Document Versions: Click on the document row to open the document menu. You'll see the option to view the number of available versions.

  • Viewing Specific Versions: Click on the version count to display a list of all versions. To open a specific version, simply click the row corresponding to that version.

This versioning feature ensures that you can easily track and revert to any previous iteration of your PDF.
