Updated over a year ago

The Claim Costs and Injuries report book is a set of four reports and can be found under the Reports tab and the Claim Reports sub-tab:

The report can be exported to Excel or PDF format.

The Claim Costs and Injuries report can be used to look across all the employers in a retro group or to get a more precise snapshot for a smaller group of employers that are managed together.

The inclusion of the new safety information taken from L&I Quarterlies or Monthlies uploaded to Gardiant (Nature of Injury, Body Part, and Accident Type) will help inform and monitor employers’ safety plans.

Parameters:

  • Current Plan Year End Date (required) determines which set of four plan years will be included in the report. To see the most current four years of experience, specify the end date for your current plan year.

  • Employer Program (required) selects the retro program to be included in the report.

  • Account Group (optional). Make a selection if applicable.

  • Employer (required) allows you to narrow results to a specific account or group of employer accounts. Choose Select All to see the entire retro group.

The following are the four report sections:

  • Claim Volume and Cost by Plan Year and Current Year Quarters - Number of claims, Case Incurred Loss, and Final Incurred Loss for each time period; 2 line charts showing trends across the selected employers and a table with a summary row for each employer.

If a claim for the same employer has multiple cases, each case will appear in the results as if it were a separate claim and loss totals will reflect that with falsely inflated numbers. If you have such duplicate cases, manually move all Case Notes and To-Dos to the one case you want to keep, delete the Case Notes and To-Dos from the case(s) you want to discard, and contact Gardiant Support to delete the duplicate case(s).

  • Top 10 Injury and Accident Attributes Ranked by Frequency and Cost – Six column charts showing Nature of Injury, Body Part, and Accident Type with top 10 rankings by frequency (number of claims) and cost (Final Incurred Loss). Claims with no injury data are categorized as no data which will usually be included in the All Other category or may appear as its own category if it falls within the Top 10.

  • Nature of Injury Frequency and Costs by Plan Year and Current Year Quarters - All Nature of Injury types in claims for the selected employers with Number of Claims, Case Incurred Loss, and Final Incurred Loss for each Nature of Injury and time period.

  • Costs and Injuries at the Claim Level – Claims grouped by Plan Year for selected employers. This report includes more detailed cost numbers and nature of injury.
