You have the option to create a non-billable service that doesn't require a rate schedule. This way when case notes are entered on a case with such a service, they do not need to be marked as non-billable saving you time from taking unnecessary steps.
Note: Non-Billable services will not show up on the billing and payroll reports. The non-billable case notes do show up on other reports.
From the Services sub-tab on the Admin tab, choose the option to create a Non-Billable Service:
Enter a name and a code for the service, and whether the cases created under this service will be claim or non-claim types:
Once the service is created, you can further edit it by adding Activities, Outcomes, or assigning it to an Account:
When creating a claim with a Non-Billable service, it will automatically show Non-Billable for the Rate schedule:
Notice the difference between a case note on a case with a billable service vs. one on a case with a non-billable service:
