[Notes] Claim vs. Non-claim Case

Updated over a year ago

Claim case - pertains to an insurance claim.

  • Usually sent to you by L&I via a referral.

  • Examples: Assessment (L&I), Self-insured (TPA-managed claim).

Note: Gardiant Works checks L&I's Host On Demand (HOD) for new referrals frequently throughout the day and will create new cases automatically for each new referral.

Non-claim case - does not pertain to an insurance claim.

  • Fewer dictated requirements and simpler structure.

  • Intended to be flexible enough for most non-L&I vocational work.

  • Examples of non-claim cases: work area assessment for ergonomic needs, stand-alone job analysis that is not related to a claim, legal testimony not related to a claim.
