[Admin] How to Handle Job Modification Cases

Effective 02/20/2019 Job Modification Consultation codes are pre-approved for the following L&I services:

  • Ability to Work Assessment (AWA and AWAE),

  • Plan Development (PD), and

  • Plan Implementation (PI and PIE).

We recommend following these instructions to handle the work on pre-approved referrals:

1. Create a Job Modification Consultation activity through the Admin tab, the Activities sub-tab, and clicking the +Activity button (if you don't already have one such activity):

2. Add the Job Modification Consultation activity to the different Rate Schedules that accept Job Modification work (mentioned at the beginning of this article). Ensure that the correct Job Modification L&I billing codes are entered and that this activity is excluded from the fee cap so it doesn't go towards the budget of the case in question:

3. Make the Job Modification Consultation activity available on the Services where it is needed:

In order to keep the Services and Rate Schedules lists tidy, we recommend to Deactivate any Job Mod service and rate schedule that might be active.

As a result of this change in process, going forward, separate Job Modification Consultation cases no longer need to be created in Gardiant.
