[Q&A] Cannot open document

Q: I cannot open documents in Gardiant Works. When I click View/Download or Edit in Word on documents, the document is not opening, and it’s asking me to Save As (see screen shot below). How can I fix this?

A: When you try to open a document from Gardiant and you are immediately being asked to Save As, it means that the Downloads folder on your computer is too full and you are asked if you would like to save the document somewhere else.

In order to fix this issue, you will need to access the Downloads folder on your computer, Select All items in the folder (CTRL+A), and delete them.

(You will see one of these views when you access File Explorer)

If there are documents in the Downloads folder that you think you might need to use later on, you can create another folder, and copy/paste the documents you need from the Downloads folder to this new folder.

*** TIP *** You can automate the cleanup of your Downloads folder by using a batch file. Follow the instructions on How to Automatically Delete Files in Your Download Folder on a Schedule to create the batch file and schedule it.
