L&I cases give you the option to use one activity code and assign multiple engagement types on one case note.
The engagement will default to the type that the activity code selected has configured on the admin screens. However, you can change it and/or add more types of engagement to the case note.
This is a case note with the Meeting-Worker activity code configured to have in-person Client engagement. As soon as you select the activity code, the engagement defaults to the type assigned by an admin:
If you are meeting with the Attending Physician and the Injured Worker who also brings their Attorney, depending on your firm's setup, you could choose the Meeting-Worker activity that gives the Client Engagement and, when you use the pencil next to the Engagement, below the Activity Code field, you can also choose the additional engagement type for the other stakeholders.
For our scenario, the engagement would look something like this:
Once Done, the case note will show the activity code along with the different engagement types for the stakeholders who attended the meeting:
The case note submitted with the multiple engagement types will be reflected in the Beta Cases list under the QA tab for qualifying services:
Note: The ability to edit the type of engagement for an activity comes in handy when an activity already has a type of engagement assigned but, from a particular interaction, you don't want to count it as engagement. In that situation, you can keep the activity but set the engagement to None.
