The L&I Paid and Unpaid Items can be used to analyze or troubleshoot L&I billing item patterns and specific reasons for non-payment.
One way to access this report is by going through the Reports tab and the Billing Reports sub-tab:
Another way to access the L&I Paid and Unpaid Items report is from the Invoice tab under the Reports button:
The report shows billing items invoiced to L&I during the specified date range, with reference to the most recent invoice and remittance advice pertaining to the item.
Parameters:
Start and End Date parameters (required) filter items to those invoiced within the selected date range.
Customer Account parameter (required) is pre-populated if your firm has only one L&I account. If your firm has multiple L&I accounts (e.g., a vocational account and a testing account), you will need to select one or more of them.
Service parameter (optional) allows you to narrow the results to a particular service or services. If left showing None Selected, then all services will be included.
Timekeeper VRC parameter (optional) lets you limit results to work done by a particular individual or team. If left with None Selected, all VRCs with L&I billing during the date range will be included.
Billing Item Status parameter is used to get only items in a particular status or statuses. Statuses include: Adjusted, Denied, In Process, Paid, Partially Paid, Ready to Resubmit, Resubmitted, Reversed, Submitted, Written Off.
Notes:
Data migrated from Latitude included only unpaid items. If the date range includes migrated data, results will not include migrated items. Results will include only items invoiced and reconciled in Gardiant Works.
Paid amount is total dollars paid on the item throughout its history.
Unpaid amount is total dollars remaining unpaid on the item.
Status is the state of the billing item at the time the report is run. In Process means the item has not yet been included in a remittance advice.
The Remarks columns shows any of the remark codes available in the EDI formatted remittance advice, including Group Code, Reason Code, and Remark Code. These are EDI-specific codes that were not created for vocational work so they can be difficult to interpret. The EOB codes shown in the readable remittance advice (in PDF format) are not in the EDI file and are not reflected in Gardiant. L&I has produced a document attempting to translate EOB codes to the other codes: How to find the EOB codes list in CAC.
