[Notes] Goals

There are three types of goals in Gardiant:

  • L&I QA Goals - created by Gardiant to align with L&I QA requirements;

  • Firm Goals - created by the firm admins;

  • Ad hoc Goals - created by VRCs on a particular case when needed.

Goals, in general, and the QA goals, in particular, are important to keep up-to-date and accurate because they:

  • Provide information reported to L&I;

  • Help with filing case notes correctly to show what work is done towards achieving a goal;

  • Keep managers and colleagues up-to-date with what is happening on the referral.

Important: The Complete Date for L&I QA Goals is used to report goal completion to L&I.

With the QA filter selected on the beta Cases list, the status of the L&I QA goals for the monitored referrals is summarized at the top of the list with a graph for each referral type and the engagement and L&I QA Goals are shown for each case to the right of the case tile:

Clicking on the graph segments filters the list to the referrals that have on track, overdue, bypassed, or nearly due (within the next 7 days) goals.

From within a case, when working with a Case Note, To-Do, or Appointment, you can:

  1. Select a different Goal than the suggested one (File in Goal will be automatically checked),

  2. Mark the task to be filed under the selected Goal by clicking on the File in Goal button,

  3. Complete the selected Goal and file the task with one click by checking the Complete Goal box.

If nothing is checked when the task is Saved or Submitted, it will not be filed under a Goal and the Goal will not be completed.

A goal stays active until you Complete it or Bypass it.

Use the Bypass option if the goal doesn't apply to the particular claim and enter a note to explain the reason why the goal is bypassed.

If there is delay in achieving a goal, choose the option to Describe Delay to provide insight for colleagues and managers with the reason why the goal can't be completed on time:

You can use either the Describe Delay quick action button or the option under the ellipsis menu.

Note: Individual goals or goal groups must be completed sequentially. The goals belonging in a group (joined together in the goal tree) can be completed in any order and all goals in that group must be completed before the next goal or group of goals can be completed.

Notice that when a goal is overdue, there is an orange line surrounding the icon. If you hover over the goal icon, the status of the goal is shown:

If a goal is overdue without a delay description, a warning message will be also presented at the top of the Goal tree:

Clicking on a Goal filters the list of tasks to those you have associated or filed with a Goal. If you have a Goal selected and you want to clear the selection, don’t forget to use the reset filter button:
